Important Back to School Information

Start/End Time
The building will be open at 7:30 a.m. and class begins PROMPTLY at 8:00 a.m. Dismissal will begin at 3:25. Please provide us grace as our dismissal may take longer than usual. 

Learning Setting 
If your student is currently registered in MISD’s Virtual Learning Academy, they will continue meeting virtually with their teacher.

If your student is currently registered as in-person, they will return to campus Tuesday, September 8.

If you are switching your student from in-person to virtual for the 2nd Six Weeks, and your student does not return to campus on Tuesday, September 8, we will serve them as a remote learner. Please know these students will not be interacting LIVE with their teacher. Teachers will instead provide instructional support, resources, and pre-recorded video lessons via Canvas or Seesaw. Your student will be expected to complete the assigned activities and assignments each day and will only be marked present if the days assignments are turned in prior to 11:59 pm on that day.

If you are switching your student from virtual to in-person, they will continue meeting virtually with their current teacher and will return for in-person instruction on campus September 21.

Dismissal Tags
Each student MUST have a dismissal tag attached to their backpack to return to in person on September 8.
 

We will be open on Saturday 9:00 – 3:00 p.m. for parents who have not picked up the backpack tags and car tags.  Again, all students must have a backpack tag despite their mode of dismissal.  Parents who will pick-up via car and parents who will meet their child at one of the walker locations must have the car tag. Please take time to pick-up the tags on Saturday if you have not done so already.  We want arrival and dismissal to be orderly.

Transportation changes must be done by 2:50 via calling the office and not their teacher.

Morning Drop Off

Car riders are dropped-off in the back of the school. Parents who choose to park may park in the back of the school. You will not be able to enter the front parking lot. Please be prepared for arrival and dismissal to take more time than it would on a regular school day. Parents are not allowed to enter the building.  Please review the campus map for parking expectations on this map.

Car Riders
As you drop off and pick up, students will be expected to enter and exit the vehicle independently.

Car tags must be placed in the passenger side window before entering the car line and displayed until your student(s) is in your vehicle.  We are not able to call students without a tag, additional tags may be purchased through the office.  For safety reasons, we request that students be able to enter the vehicle from the passenger side.  Your child’s safety during dismissal is important to us and we feel that following we guidelines will help our line move quickly, efficiently, and safely. Please review the campus map here for parking expectations


Student Devices
If at all possible, we are asking that you send the device the student has been working on with them to school. Although we will be in person, we will still be submitting assignments online and working in Canvas regularly. If you are not able to send your child with a device, please let your child's teacher or you may request one from the district by completing this request from.

If your child has been using a district issued device, they MUST bring it back to school on Tuesday, and it will be left here in the classroom.

Headphones
Please send your child with their own headphones to school.  Due to COVID-19, we will not be able to “share” the classroom headphones.
