Total Eclipse Information

On Monday, April 8, the Dallas/Fort Worth area will become a prime location to view a total eclipse of the sun. An event this significant occurs just once every 100 years, and Mansfield ISD is excited to share this educational opportunity with our students at all of our campuses.

All students will receive eclipse viewing glasses provided by the Perot Museum of Nature and Science.

Students will receive safety training on how to properly view the eclipse prior to the event.

For their safety, MISD’s youngest students, Pre-K and Kindergarten, will view the eclipse on monitors in the building.

Out of an abundance of caution, all campuses will be closed to visitors from 1:20 to 2 p.m. on Monday, April 8.

If you prefer your student not participate, please complete this google form.

Students and parents can learn more about how to safely view an eclipse by watching this NASA video. For more information about the upcoming eclipse, visit the NASA website.
